Joanne lives in downtown Toronto with her best friend and husband, Greg in a lovingly restored Victorian. There is nothing better than a relaxing Friday night with a great little wine and a simple but elegant meal at home. Joanne's work requires a lot of brain power and "moxie" Monday through Friday so weekends are devoted to friends and family.

Their network of friends includes a tight core of adventurous souls who like playing sports and planning progressive dinners complete with their own party bus and lazy summer days at the cottage. Greg and Joanne like to travel - from the beaches of Australia to the mountain caves of Turkey. Life is good.

Elegantly Focused

E=MC2 is an elegant solution. An elegant solution is one that is as simple as possible while encompassing the level of complexity required to solve the problem. At the bottom of this portrait there are floating layers of soft colour. This softness refers to Joanne’s composed demeanor. Joanne has genius in taking diverse undefined layers of information - reminiscent of how the layers at the bottom of the painting blend - and distil them down to their essence. She can then clearly articulate the key factors and how they interplay in the big picture. While the answer may be clear and concise, Joanne includes the subtleties and distinctions that make the difference in the quality of the output.

The painting shows 3 areas rising above the base colours. There are new clear and clean white spaces available for new possibilities to arise. Each of the 3 triangle shapes has both clear clean colours and subtle shadings. There are colours taken from what existed before and new colours have been added included the golden touch. These 3 shapes also narrow at the top showing the focused, aligned and integrated direction that they are taking. This is not a hard-edged driving energy that forgets the human element. The word “lovely” comes to mind. Lovely is a simple quality that guarantees longevity. People can live with and enjoy “lovely” for a long long time.
