  Insight Portraits in Organizations

"Clarity of mind means clarity of passion, too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves."
Blaise Pascal

Before you allocate a big budget towards a new initiative consider an Insight Portrait process as a way to distil the essence of what's important, bring clarity to everyone involved, and provide a visual anchor for the future.  Clarity and commitment go hand in hand. An individual or team will not harness the power of intention unless they are clear on what is important. This is more than brainstorming some idealistic desired future. It is necessary to enter a dialogue that gets to the heart of the matter. If you spend the time and energy to get clear at the beginning, the end result is in alignment with the core values of the organization and its leaders.

From the Board of Directors and Staff

In 2006, Florence Wong was the recipient of the YMCA Women of Distinction Award for her work in making Yee Hong the standard bearer for geriatric care in Ontario. This Insight Portrait was a gift to Florence from the Board of Directors and Staff of Yee Hong as a way to commemorate the award and to celebrate Florence's contribution to women and their care.

Each member of the board had the opportunity to add their perspective and personal story of what Florence means to them. The end result is an image that is simple and yet says so much.

From your team

"Thank you" is sometimes difficult to express fully. This Insight Portrait was painted as a parting gift to Dawn Sheppard, the Executive Director of the CARE for Nurses Centre, for her work in establishing the Centre and steering it to become a flourishing and vital organization.

The CARE for Nurses Centre has a mandate to guide and support internationally educated nurses to become licensed and employed in Ontario. The organization is unique because of the level of devotion and personal involvement of each team member in achieving the Centre’s mission. The men and women that work at CARE really do care for their clients and work tirelessly to help them resume their nursing careers.

Each member of the team had a voice in the creation of this Insight Portrait that spoke to their appreciation for this fearless leader and for the organization that had flourished under her guidance. Click on the image to meet Dawn Sheppard and to learn more about CARE.
