Peggy says...

I was interested in a more personal vision of how I am perceived as a friend by those I hold close to my heart.

BFF

A portrait of Peggy as a friend is almost impossible to capture in one image. Peggy could be a whole gallery of paintings. Peggy could also be a novel. Let’s consider this particular portrait a sliver, a morsel perhaps to whet your appetite to learn more about what real friendship looks like. A real friend would be someone who would actually wear a sweater like this if you made it for her. If not wear it, at least keep it forever because it was from you.

The essence of this sweater is of something from the past (think high school in the 60’s) and Peggy’s friends are friends made over time. Friendship is not entered into frivolously. The depth of the friendship grows and matures with each shared experience. This portrait shows a sleeve being knit in the moment. There is a mutuality and activeness to being Peggy’s friend and she is often busy adding another row of knit or purl through her genuine care and devotion.

Every element in the design represents one or more aspects of Peggy’s friendship: for example

  • The apple core speaks to the way Peggy naturally zeros in on what’s important: quickly getting to the core of the matter. The best part of that is how she does this in a completely non-judgmental manner. Her friends appreciate how she can empathize - easily stepping outside of herself to land squarely in her friends shoes. You feel heard and seen by a true friend. Peggy has been referred to as “the most objective person I know”. Her friends appreciate the tremendous value of Peggy’s ability to simple “BE” with you.
  • The diamond suggests the many facets that Peggy brings to the table: her intelligence, her courage, her curiosity, her wit, and her wisdom. Diamonds are also unique, real, precious, and permanent as well as being created under tremendous pressure. Peggy is that kind of friend one that will go through fire with you and who you will cherish forever.

  What I Know For Sure

" I actually don't know anything for sure - it changes everyday.  The only constant is that chocolate never lets you down."  Peggy Cleary
